The Holstein breed was awarded the best group of dairy anuimals at Balmoral with entries from Sam McCormick Bangor and Ronald McLean and sons Donaghmore. Looking after the trio are John McCormick, Denis O'neil Malcom McLean and Gordon Donalson sales director John Thomspon and sons while Declan Billington chief executive John Thomspon and sons presents the trophy to Sam McCormick.

Karen Campbell accepts the third prize for the presentation of dairy cattle in the cattle lines from Allison Matthews, John Thomspon and Sons Ltd. Also included are Michael Hunter, Stephen Duncan, and Gordon Armstrong.

The Holstein Championship was awarded to R McLean and sons Donaghmore. Malcolm McLean receives the John Thompson and sons award from James Black while Andrew Kennedy looks after the champion.

James Porter, Lisburn took the award for the best pair of Aberdeen Angus heifers bred by the exhibitor. Hugh McCluggage, John Thompson and Sons Ltd, presented the award to the handlers, Adam Crockett and Ian Wray.

Stephen Crawford, Maguiresbridge may be delighted to receive the John Thompson and Sons crystal award for the junior Limousin champion from Allison Matthews but Sylvandene Duchess is dissappointed to find that it does not contain her normal feed from John Thomspon and Sons Ltd

The Charolais champion which was also the supreme Interbreed beef champion was exhibited by Andrew Patterson for owners, Gilbert Crawford and Joe Wilson. Adding their congratulations are Peter Vasey,President of the British Charolais Society and Richard Moore, John Thompson and Sons Ltd.

The YFC tug of war competition sponsored by John Thompson and Sons Ltd attracted a massive crowd at Balmoral in spite of the rain.

The junior Limousin heifer champion at Balmroal Show was owned by Raymond Crawford, Maguiresbridge and exibited by Stephen Crawford who is picutrued with Allison Matthews, John Thompson and Sons Litd.
