Trafford Gold:

Is a pioneering animal feed rich in energy, protein and digestible fibre. It comes from one traceable source – Cargill Plc processing facility in Manchester. Produced as a result of processing wheat to make four key ingredients, starch, glucose syrups, vital wheat gluten and alcohol.

Wheat is coarsely milled and the flour mixed with water to separate vital wheat gluten. These grades of starch are then refined to produce a purer grade of starch. Some of these go onto be further refined into glucose and some are sent to the onsite distillery. The distillery produces food grade alcohol and a highly palatable liquid containing rumen friendly inert yeasts. This is combined with the wheat components that are not further processed to produce Traffordgold®.
