Creep Feeding

Creep Feeding Guidelines

1.  Lambs should have access to creep feed from about 7-10 days of age. Significant intakes of creep will not occur until 3-4 weeks of age.

2.  Creep feeds should be offered initially in small quantities.

3.  Creep feeds should be replenished regularly and kept fresh.

4.  Creep feed should be palatable.

5.  Adequate feeding space should be allowed, i.e. 65-75mm trough space per lamb.

6.  Lambs should have access to fresh, clean water, once meal feeding commences.

Feeds For Ewe Milk Yields and Lamb Performance

Thompsons have utilised up to date research in their range of sheep feeds which are high in energy with quality protein and a high level of minerals and vitamins to increase ewe milk yield and lamb performance.

Farming in Northern Ireland in 2009 is no longer an enterprise related solely to economics, politics and weather conditions of the Island of Ireland. A global drive for free markets means Northern Ireland farmers must compete with the best worldwide in terms of product production efficiency, environmental impact, and food taste to ensure their products receive shelf space in a highly competitive food industry.

Sheep

The sheep industry has become much more focussed on quality and performance in terms of lambing percentage, growth rates, product quality and costs of production.  The aim for Thompsons is to deliver feeding systems which embrace these needs of sheep farmers.

Whether your system demands high lambing percentages, is multiple suckling or  simply requires ewe maintenance, Thompsons supply feed to complement each aim.
